Hello and welcome to our blog! The big plan is to post about not only new developments in our business (www.webfooteddesigns.co.uk), but also important client developments.
Over the coming months we're aiming to gradually add web design tips and to write about business news affecting the St. Just and Penzance area (where we're based).

Is it secret? Is it backed up?
After a week of what feels like constant backing up, my enthusiasm for this worthy but dull task is certainly at a low ebb. However let's not forget why we back up (and we do, don't we?):
- to keep important data safe and not all in one place
- so there's a safety net in case of a small disaster. Remember multiple copies are better than one.

Is it secret? Is it safe?
OK maybe it's not literally the end of the world if your Facebook password falls into somebody else's hands ... not nearly as bad as the Dark Lord getting hold of the One Ring (what, that's not real?). But it would be jolly inconvenient wouldn't it? And it's not just a waste of your time (which is bad enough), there is a more serious side to it as it could mean that your personal information is compromised. Facebook is just one example, what about your online banking login and your PayPal account?
I know, it's very easy to take your passwords for granted. There are so many of them to remember aren't there? So, what do we all do? We use the same password over and over again. I know I've been guilty of it. But that means that if somebody else gets hold of it they have access to all sorts of things. Doesn't bear thinking about.

Top 10 tips for making the most of your website - Part 1
Websites are brilliant - well we would think so, we're web designers. Seriously though, websites are an excellent marketing tool. They can help you reach a wider audience and do more business. Great! But one thing we would urge you to remember - while a website is a marketing 'tool', it isn't the be-all and end-all of marketing your business. The World Wide Web is a big place with millions of websites competing for those top spots on Google - unfortunately just having a website isn't necessarily enough these days. In order to really work for you, you need to spend time promoting your website, monitoring its performance and improving it. Hey, but it's not all doom and gloom. Working on your website can be fun and very satisfying when you see your visitor numbers go up and more orders/enquiries come in, and remember there are people like us out there who would love to help you get the best results from your site.
Here are the first 5 of our top 10 tips for making the most of your website.
